Causes of bunionette and tailor`s toe

If you suffer from pain in your 5th little toe then you most likely have a Tailor`s Toe or a Bunionette.
A Boney lump appears at the base of the 5th toe on the metatarsal bone and is basically the same as a Bunion or Hallux Valgus which appears on the Big toe.

Both are very uncomfortable and can make walking and wearing footwear very difficult and painful. Blisters and Corns often occur from friction when walking and these alongside the inflamed joint are bad news for the sufferer.

A Bunionette is when the 5th toe is pushed inwards towards the 4th toe and a small lump occurs over time callous , blisters or corns appear on the inflamed lump and you have a tailors toe.

Common causes of Bunionette`s and Tailor`s Toe

There are two treatments, surgery or supports.

In extreme cases bunionette surgery may be necessary and the only cure for the patient when the pain is not stopped from supports. Bone is removed from under the bunionette to relieve pressure.
